As you are aware, jobsite safety must be a high priority for
the construction industry to maintain a safe and productive
workplace for employees regardless of the trades involved.
A successful project with regards to profitability, project
schedules and owner satisfaction directly correlates to jobsite
safety.
We, at Intermountain Electric Inc., place the highest priority
on the safety of personnel and equipment on project sites
and other sites in which work involving our company takes
place.
The safety process involves a five-part process, which we
feel is essential for a successful project:
1. Inspect and Monitor
2. Inform of deficiencies
3. Evaluate corrective action
4. Implement Corrective Action
5. Re-inspect and Monitor
As you can see, the process is fairly
straightforward but requires that all contractors be aware of safety, be
willing to work together to achieve
the goals and provide adequate
correspondence of information and resources.
Our Accident Prevention program, which is reviewed for relevance
and edited to be site specific as required, is the backbone
of this philosophy. The program is divided into two basic
sections, General Requirements and Specific Construction requirements.
General requirements: consists of Personnel safety guidelines,
environmental hazards & awareness, Accident report forms
and basic safety procedures.
Specific Construction Requirements: consists of Electrical
Wiring and Apparatus, Scaffolding, Ladders, etc., Specialty
equipment, Work around energized substations, grounding requirements,
and any additional safety requirements. |
